South China Aluminum: Prices Up on Pre-Holiday Restocking

SHFE 1306 aluminum contract had little upward momentum necessary to break RMB 14,600/mt on Wednesday.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 3 (SMM) – SHFE 1306 aluminum contract had little upward momentum necessary to break RMB 14,600/mt on Wednesday. Cargo holders in south China held back goods, while downstream producers were active building up stocks for the three-day public holiday, pushing mainstream traded prices up to above RMB 14,500/mt, a premium of RMB 100/mt over Shanghai. Overall trading was brisk.
