China's Manufacturing PMI Rises in March

China's Purchasing Managers' Index for the manufacturing sector rose to 50.9 percent in March from 50.1 percent in February.

BEIJING, April 1 -- China's Purchasing Managers' Index for the manufacturing sector rose to 50.9 percent in March from 50.1 percent in February, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) said on Monday.

It was the sixth consecutive month that the PMI figure stayed above 50 percent, which demarcates expansion from contraction, according to a statement from the CFLP.
