China Silicomanganese Alloy Market Movement: Hebei Iron & Steel Lowers April Silicomanganese Alloy Procurement Price by RMB 200/mt (2013-3-29)

SHANGHAI, Mar. 29 (SMM) – SMM expects April silicomanganese alloy procurement prices will fall given sluggish steel market and sufficient silicomanganese alloy supply, but declines have been larger than expected. SMM sources report SiMn 65/17 procurement prices by Hebei Iron & Steel were down 200 mt, to RMB 7,050/mt (including tax, by acceptance). Shasteel also began to inquire for silicomanganese alloy. The two steel plants both cut April purchasing volumes.
