South China Aluminum: Trading Light on a Lack of Market Confidence

SHFE 1306 aluminum contract prices edged up on Monday, but spot aluminum prices failed to follow.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 25 (SMM) – SHFE 1306 aluminum contract prices edged up on Monday, but spot aluminum prices failed to follow. Mainstream traded prices in south China were stagnant at RMB 14,550/mt, flat with prices in Shanghai. Traders were in a hurry to sell, but downstream buying interest was limited. Only middlemen purchased modest amounts at low prices.
