China Manganese Ore Market Movement (2013-3-21)

Buchans Minerals Corporation (TSXV:BMC) and Minco plc (AIM:MIO) announced additional drilling results from the Woodstock manganese project in New Brunswick.
SHANGHAI, Mar. 21 (SMM) -
Domestic market:
Overseas suppliers continued to hold offers firm, but spot manganese ore prices at Chinese ports have begun to fall, with selected classes of products dropping more than expected. Most of the market players surveyed by SMM believe large arrivals at ports were the major reason behind the price decline. Most traders ordered only a limited amount of manganese ore from overseas suppliers for delivery in April, given the current high CIF prices and low spot prices.
Transactions:
China’s southern and northern ports saw thin trading activity and falling traded prices, with price spread between the two ports narrowing.
Prices of steel products rebounded slightly, but the rally is not driven by fundamentals. Silicomanganese prices remained weak on low buying interest. Thin trading activity was reported in spot manganese ore markets, but no sell-off has emerged.
