SHFE 1306 zinc contract prices opened lower and plunged today.
SHANGHAI, Mar. 18 (SMM) – SHFE 1306 zinc contract prices opened lower and plunged today. Discounts of #0 zinc against SHFE 1306 zinc contract prices were RMB 160-180/mt, with traded prices around RMB 14,720-14,750/mt. #1 zinc prices were RMB 14,720/mt. Smelters were holding goods due to slumping zinc prices, but arbitrage traders replenished stocks due to narrowing spot discounts. Downstream buying interest strengthened, causing overall transactions to improve.
