






SHANGHAI, Mar. 15 (SMM) -
Domestic market:
Spot manganese ore suppliers at Chinese ports began to lower prices. An RMB 0.5-1/mtu price cut was reported on South African mixed carbonate manganese ore (lump), Australian manganese ore (Mn44%, lump) and other classes of manganese ore. Bearish sentiment continued to dominate spot markets. With a large quantity of imported manganese ore arriving at ports in late March and manganese alloy prices meeting strong resistance at RMB 7,000/mt, spot manganese ore prices at ports should remain under downward pressure.
Transactions:
In northern ports, sales volumes of mixed carbonate manganese ore were higher, with some of the goods being long-term contracts ordered earlier. Traded price was down RMB 0.5-1/mtu on a weekly basis. In southern ports, spot manganese ore prices were under downward track, with few transactions completed.
Trading volumes of manganese ore were relatively high among ferrous metals, but traded prices fell. However, only a RMB 2-3/mtu price decline was reported from earlier levels as overseas suppliers have held offers firm.
