SHFE aluminum prices led gains among base metals on Thursday, lifting spot aluminum prices in south China.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 7 (SMM) – SHFE aluminum prices led gains among base metals on Thursday, lifting spot aluminum prices in south China. Traders held back goods to support prices, while downstream producers purchased modestly, with middlemen more active in buying. Mainstream traded prices were RMB 14,610-14,630/mt, a premium of nearly RMB 150/mt over Shanghai. Overall trading was brisk.
