Prices of the most active SHFE aluminum contracts staged a mild rally on Tuesday thanks to short-covering, but spot aluminum prices failed to follow suit.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 5 (SMM) – Prices of the most active SHFE aluminum contracts staged a mild rally on Tuesday thanks to short-covering, but spot aluminum prices failed to follow suit. Traders in south China were anxious to sell, but downstream consumption remained sluggish. Only middlemen were more active in buying, which did help improve overall trading slightly from a day earlier.
