China Silicomanganese Alloy Market Movement: Steel Plants May Start Purchasing Silicomanganese Alloy in Coming Week (2013-2-22)

Owing to soft terminal demand, steel prices lacked rising momentum in recent days. With steel stocks rising gradually, steel prices are likely to fluctuate near current levels in the future.
SHANGHAI, Feb. 22 (SMM) – Owing to soft terminal demand, steel prices lacked rising momentum in recent days. With steel stocks and daily crude steel output rising gradually, steel prices are likely to fluctuate near current levels for the foreseeable future.
Silicomanganese alloy prices remained stable, but some silicomanganese alloy producers tended to raise price quotes. However, since downstream buying has yet to increase, silicomanganese alloy market activity remained relatively quiet. SMM expects that most steel plants will start purchasing silicomanganese alloy for March in the coming week. Procurement prices for silicomanganese alloy should see no major changes as steel plants are maintaining normal production at present, and since spot silicomanganese alloy supply is not tight.
