South China Aluminum: Spot Trading to Remain Quiet for Days to Come

SHFE 1305 aluminum contract prices extended losses and tested support at RMB 15,100/mt on Tuesday, souring market sentiment in spot markets.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 19 (SMM) – SHFE 1305 aluminum contract prices extended losses and tested support at RMB 15,100/mt on Tuesday, souring market sentiment in spot markets. Cargo holders were actively selling, but downstream consumption was sluggish, with only a small number of middlemen purchasing moderately at lower prices. Mainstream traded prices fell to RMB 14,800-14,820/mt and overall trading will remain quiet for days to come.
