SHFE Zinc Price Movement (2013-2-7)

On January 7, SHFE zinc prices fell after opened lower, and #0 zinc prices in spot market were mainly between RMB 15,510-15,530/mt.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 7 (SMM) – On January 7, SHFE zinc prices fell after opened lower, and #0 zinc prices in spot market were mainly between RMB 15,510-15,530/mt, with spot discounts over the 1305 SHFE zinc contract price narrowing to RMB 330-360/mt. #1 zinc was mainly traded between RMB 15,470-15,480/mt. Spot zinc trading was rather quiet. Some traders intended to move goods for arbitrage given the narrowing spot discounts, but purchases were sparse as downstream buyers stayed out of the market.
