South China Aluminum: Trading Muted as Chinese New Years Nears

SHFE 1304 aluminum contract prices drifted lower after initially rising on Monday, constraining upward momentum of spot aluminum prices.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) – SHFE 1304 aluminum contract prices drifted lower after initially rising on Monday, constraining upward momentum of spot aluminum prices. Some traders remained active in selling, but consumption was sluggish, leaving mainstream traded prices stagnant at RMB 14,990-15,010/mt. With the Chinese New Year only a few days away, overall trading was muted.
