China Silicomanganese Alloy Market Movement: Silicomanganese Alloy Prices Remain Steady, Purchases from Steel Plants Modest (2013-1-25)

There was a number of positive news in the steel market.
SHANGHAI, Jan. 25 (SMM) – There was a number of positive news in the steel market including large increase in futures markets, Baosteel hiking ex-works prices, climbing raw material prices and stabilizing domestic economy. But that can hardly boost real transactions in the market.
SMM sources report most steel plants have finished stockpiling for January, and combined with year-end maintenance at some steel plants, silicomanganese alloy inventories fell slowly. Most steel plants began to inquire silicomanganese alloy prices. The market will take a wait-and-see attitude until Hebei Iron & Steel releases silicomanganese alloy procurement prices for February.
