SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Nov. 5-9)

Although brass prices declined marginally, profits on imported brass were little changed. Domestic brass importers largely replenished stocks on an as-needed basis.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 13 (SMM) –Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western edged down to USD 5,000-5,050/mt last week. CIF quotations for Bulgarian brass were about USD 4,700/mt, and approximately USD 4,580/mt for German and Spanish brass. Mainstream offers for US brass, Western fell slightly to RMB 38,300-38,700/mt on China's domestic markets. Although brass prices declined marginally, profits on imported brass were little changed. Domestic brass importers largely replenished stocks on an as-needed basis owing to uncertainty in future copper price trends.
