South China Aluminum: Spot Trading Thin on Bearish Mood

SHFE 1212 aluminum contract prices failed to reach RMB 15,400/mt on Wednesday, triggering bearish sentiment in spot market.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 24 (SMM) – SHFE 1212 aluminum contract prices failed to reach RMB 15,400/mt on Wednesday, triggering bearish sentiment in spot market. Mainstream traded prices were RMB 15,260-15,270/mt in south China market. Cargo holders were eager to move goods, but downstream producers and middlemen showed little buying interest. Trading picked up at low prices, but overall trading remained light.
