South China Aluminum: Spot Trading Quiet on Low Buying

The most active SHFE aluminum contract retreated below RMB 15,500/mt again, fuelling strong bearish sentiment in south China spot market.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 12 (SMM) - The most active SHFE aluminum contract retreated below RMB 15,500/mt again, fuelling strong bearish sentiment in south China spot market. Downstream processors seldom built up stocks, dragging traded prices down to RMB 15,310/mt. Some traders, who were eager to cash in, moved goods at RMB 15,300/mt. Prices in south China were at discounts over those in Shanghai. Trading was light.
