Inquires for imported manganese ore increased from downstream alloy producers, and traded prices of imported manganese ore also rose from a day earlier.
SHANGHAI, Oct.12 (SMM) – Inquires for imported manganese ore increased from downstream alloy producers, and traded prices of imported manganese ore also rose from a day earlier. By virtue that SiMn alloy market slightly recovered, most traders began to have positive expectation towards manganese ore market.
No large ship arrived at north China ports. Supply of manganese ore (Brazil, Mn 44-45%, Fe5%) were limited, so most downstream producers used manganese ore (Gabon, Mn44-45%) as a substitute. In south China ports, UMK will ship mixed carbaionate manganese ore (South Africa) to south China ports from next week, and quoted offers around RMB 37.5/mtu, and spot offers as high as RMB 38.5/mtu.However, downstream producers’ price acceptance was low.
