SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Sept. 17-21)

As foreign brass quotations increased, profits on imported brass dipped to RMB 600/mt. But brass importers still replenished stocks on an as-needed basis.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 24 (SMM) – Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western inched up to around USD 5,150/mt last week. CIF quotations for Bulgarian brass increased to roughly USD 4,780/mt, and about USD 4,650/mt for German and Spanish brass. Mainstream offers for US brass, Western remained unchanged between RMB 39,300-39,700/mt on China's domestic markets. Brass bar prices failed to increase, and gains in brass prices were also very slow. As foreign brass quotations increased, profits on imported brass dipped to RMB 600/mt. But brass importers still replenished stocks on an as-needed basis.
