SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Jul. 9-13)

SMM Insight 03:43:14PM Jul 10, 2012 Source:SMM

SHANGHAI, Jul. 10 (SMM) –Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western edged higher to USD 5,050-5,100/mt last week, up USD 50/mt. Mainstream offers were RMB 39,000-39,300/mt on China's domestic markets, while domestic brass prices rose only RMB 300/mt from the previous week. Although brass importers remain more optimistic of copper price increases in 2H, this has not been reflected in their behavior. Few have visibly replenished stocks. Most continued sourcing to order over the past week.
