SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Jul. 9-13)

Although brass importers remain more optimistic of copper price increases in 2H, most continued sourcing to order over the past week.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 10 (SMM) –Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western edged higher to USD 5,050-5,100/mt last week, up USD 50/mt. Mainstream offers were RMB 39,000-39,300/mt on China's domestic markets, while domestic brass prices rose only RMB 300/mt from the previous week. Although brass importers remain more optimistic of copper price increases in 2H, this has not been reflected in their behavior. Few have visibly replenished stocks. Most continued sourcing to order over the past week.
