Average Operating Rate at Copper Bar Producers Dips to 65.2% in June

SMM's survey found that the average operating rate at China's copper bar producers has fallen to 65.2% this June.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 27 (SMM) – SMM's survey found that the average operating rate at China's copper bar producers has fallen to 65.2% this June. Environmental protection inspection in Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province continues, forcing some bar producers falling short of standards to cease production. Zhuji's lost orders have shifted to Ningbo and Taizhou instead, helping boost orders there. The overall slide in growth across the whole of the Chinese economy has unequivocally caused orders at copper bar producers to contract. As SMM's survey sample captures the concentration of producers in Ningbo and Taizhou, the slight slip in the average operating rate at these copper bar producers in June may not be as indicative as usual.
