SMM Weekly Review on Brass Imports (Jun. 18-21)

CIF quotations for US brass, Western rose to USD 5,050/mt last week, up USD 50/mt from the prior week, and mainstream offers were RMB 39,100-39,500/mt on China's domestic markets.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 27 (SMM) –Turning to the brass market, CIF quotations for US brass, Western rose to USD 5,050/mt last week, up USD 50/mt from the prior week. Mainstream offers were RMB 39,100-39,500/mt on China's domestic markets, with limited room for further rises. Brass traders said future copper prices are likely to fall as copper bar demand slows with the slackening domestic economy. As such, most anticipate scaling back brass purchase volumes for the short term.
