China February Refined Copper Imports 375,831 Tons, More Than Double On Year

China's refined copper imports in February more than doubled compared with last February to 375,831 metric tons, the General Administration of Customs said Wednesday.

BEIJING, Mar 21, 2012 (Dow Jones) -- China's refined copper imports in February more than doubled compared with last February to 375,831 metric tons, the General Administration of Customs said Wednesday.

Refined copper imports rose 12% compared with January and 137.6% on year, Customs said.

Imports in the first two months rose 76% to 711,311 tons, it said.

China's copper concentrate imports in February rose 58% on year to 627,911 tons, it said. In the first two months, copper concentrate imports rose 28% to 1.2 million tons.

China is the world's largest copper consumer.
