SHANGHAI, Dec. 28 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,020-16,050/mt on Wednesday, with discounts of RMB 10-40/mt over the SHFE current-month aluminum price. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 16,050-16,070/mt in Shanghai. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were between RMB 16,010-16,040/mt. SHFE aluminum prices rose after opening lower, with the SHFE current-month aluminum price holding firmly at the RMB 16,000/mt mark, leading to more high-grade aluminum ingot available in markets. However, most traders closed trading by the end of the year, so spot aluminum supply reduced remarkably compared to earlier this week. Meanwhile, downstream buyers still purchased on as-needed basis, with limited supply, particularly in Wuxi, spot discounts narrowed, leaving a relatively active trading market.
