Oct 21, 2011 (Bloomberg) -- Aluminum production averaged 70,700 metric tons a day in September, the International Aluminium Institute said.
The total is the highest on record, exceeding the previous all-time high of 70,600 tons a day in May 2008, according to IAI data going back to 1973.
