Operating Rates at Aluminum Plate, Sheet, Strip and Foil Producers in September Down 6.2% MoM

Operating rates at aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil producers were 60.17% during September, down 6.2% compared with August’s 66.73%.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 12 (SMM) -- According to a recent SMM survey of domestic 34 aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil producers with total capacity of 4.19 million mt/yr, overall operating rates were 60.17% during September, down 6.2% compared with August’s 66.73%.

The survey reveals that operating rates at medium and large producers fell to about 60% due to weaker orders, while operating rates at small producers declined to 72.22%, down from August’s 88.17%.
