DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingAug. 17 (MF global) -- Metals ended mixed in a very quiet start to the week, this despite the fact that both US equity and energy markets posted solid gains. Aluminum was particularly weak, approaching, but not yet breaching its January 2011 low of $2360. In other markets, gold finished higher, while the dollar closed sharply lower, although it did little to help metals per se.
