China's Motorcycle Exports Hit Record 1.05 Mln Units in Jul

China saw its exports of motorcycles reach a record 1.05 million units in July this year, 5.59% more than in June or 43.61% more than in the same months of last year,

Aug. 15, 2011 (China Knowledge) - China saw its exports of motorcycles reach a record 1.05 million units in July this year, 5.59% more than in June or 43.61% more than in the same months of last year, according to the latest statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

The exports in July reflected a rise for the fifth consecutive month.

In the first seven months, the country's motorcycle exports surged 29.38% year on year to 5.98 million units, which accounted for 38.95% of the country's total motorcycle sales during the period. The ratio was 10.73 percentage points higher than that in the same period of last year.

Last month, China's motorcycle sales rose 10.65% year on year but fell 6.14% month on month to 2.17 million units, taking its sales for the first seven months to a total of 15.35 million units, 6.26% year on year.

China produced 2.21 million motorcycles in July and a total of 15.34 million units in the first seven months.

In the first half, motorcycle makers in China reaped RMB 1.62 billion in profit, reflecting a decline of 23.80% year on year. These motorcycle companies saw their gross output fall 1.71% year on year to RMB 61.18 billion and operating revenue fall 1.22% to RMB 61.57 billion during the period.
