SHFE #1 Lead Price Movement on Aug. 8, 2011

SHFE lead prices opened lower and then rose today.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 8 (SMM)--SHFE lead prices opened lower and then rose today. Domestic well-known brand Chihong Zn & Ge was generally quoted between RMB 15,800-15,900/mt, with discounts further narrowing to negative RMB 250-270/mt. Other brands such as Jinguan and Baiyin were not popular in markets. Traders were cautious, while downstream buying interest was still low despite lower prices, keeping transactions quiet.

SHFE 1511 lead once moved higher to RMB 13,245/mt after opening Monday evening session at RMB 13,190/mt.
