JOHANNESBURG, Aug 04, 2011 (Dow Jones) -- Gold prices could trade above $1,700 a troy ounce in the next six months given the problems in the U.S., said AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU) chief executive Thursday.
"With the U.S. and its problems still upside I wouldn't be surprised if gold went through $1,700/oz," said Chief Executive Officer Mark Cutifani. "Beyond that who knows."
