






SHANGHAI, Jul. 29 (SMM)--On July 27th, the Henan Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau released the List of 2011 Henan Lead-acid Battery Manufacturing, Assembling and Recycling Enterprises. The list included 95 lead-acid battery manufacturing, assembling and recycling enterprises, of which 77 were closed, accounting for 81% of the total number of inspected enterprises.
According to the list, the environmental protection examination involved in 95 enterprises, including 56 battery assembling enterprises, 9 battery recycling enterprises and 19 polar plate manufacturers, as well as 11 enterprises producing polar plates and assembling batteries.
There are 28 enterprises closed, accounting for 29.5% of the total number of examined enterprises. 23 enterprises were forced to suspend production, while 26 are under inspection. Only 10 enterprises still conduct operation. Besides, there are 8 enterprises under construction.
In 2010, lead-acid battery output from Henan province was much lower than Zhejiang and Guangdong province, and the result of examination showed that the rectifications against local lead-acid battery enterprises are severe. Results of environmental protection inspection are being released progressively, and SMM will keep eyes on the issue.
