SHANGHAI, Dec. 23 (CBI China) -- According to media reports, China Steel Group and Baosteel Group jointly invested 1.8 billion in nickel-iron project in Huanghua Port in Cangzhou, Hebei province, and this project will be postponed to the end of 2009 or even 2010, mainly due to falling nickel prices and sluggish demand for stainless steel. The production capacity of the first phase of this project is 16,000 mt of nickel.

In addition, the nickel-iron project with the capacity of 20 kt/yr of nickel in Qingshan Group will be postponed to next year or the year after next year.
