Yunnan Copper to Build Refined Copper Mill in Hebei

SHANGHAI Aug.17 (CBI China)-- Yunnan Copper Industry (Group) Company and the Baoding Municipal Government of Hebei Province signed an agreement in Kunming in which the Baoding City Anxin County Government, Yunnan Copper, and Baoding Dali Copper will jointly build a 200kt p.a. high-purity refined copper mill in Anxin County.  Yunnan Copper will invest RMB 1.5 billion, and the mill is scheduled to open in 2009.

    Baoding City is one of China's major distribution centers for scrap copper, as well as the largest refined copper market in North China, with an annual copper trading volume of 1.2 - 1.5 million mt.
