Mar.24 (Bloomberg) --Switzerland’s Glencore International AG will not open a copper mine in eastern Serbia after testing showed lower than expected copper content, Vecernje Novosti newspaper reported, citing local authorities it did not identify.
Glencore, the world’s largest commodity trader, had eyed the Cerovo location, close to Serbia’s existing copper mine and smelter, state-run RTB Bor, with which it had considered a partnership for opening a new mine, the newspaper said.
