DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightLONDON, Feb 16, 2011 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- The global aluminum market was in surplus by 558,000 metric tons in 2010, the World Bureau of Metal Statistics said Wednesday.
This compares with a surplus of 1.84 million tons in 2009.
Demand for primary aluminum in 2010 was 40.1 million tons, which is 5 million tons more than in the previous year.
Production in 2010 rose by 3.7 million tons, following a decline of 2.7 million tons over the whole of 2009.
