Dec 4 (Bloomberg) --  Codelco, the world’s biggest copper producer, has discovered two new copper deposits near its existing Andina and Teniente divisions, La Tercera reported, citing an interview with a company source it didn’t identify.

The Cerro Negro deposit, located north of Andina, may have as much as 800 million tons of minerals, the Santiago-based newspaper said, citing the company source. There aren’t estimates yet for the size of the deposit near El Teniente, the newspaper said, citing the same source.

The company confirmed the accuracy of La Tercera’s information when contacted by Bloomberg, declining to elaborate, citing company policy.
