Hua Ao Mining Company to Restart Production

SHANGHAI, Dec. 1(SMM)--According to SMM sources, Hebei Hua Ao Mining Industry Company Ltd. is to restart production recently. The company has suspended production since late September due to power restrictions.

In order to accomplish the energy saving and emission reduction target of the 11th “Five-year Plan”, Hebei government has been implementing power restrictions in steel enterprises and cement industry. Nonferrous metal enterprises were getting involved in power restrictions since late September. According to SMM sources, Hebei Hua Ao Mining Industry Company, a major zinc enterprise in Hebei province, has suspended production since late September. The electricity was cut in the company. As a result, zinc concentrate production in Hebei province was greatly impacted since Hua Ao Mining Industry Company suspended production. The output of zinc concentrate in Hebei province was 3,007 mt in October, down 41.2% MoM.

The annual capacity of Hua Ao Mining Industry Company is about 30,000 mt, and the capacity of lead and zinc is expected to increase to 50,000 mt/yr after the new devices are in operation in early 2011.
