Furukawa to Mass Produce Aluminum Wire Harnesses, Nikkei Says

Nov. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Furukawa Electric Co. will begin mass production in Indonesia and Vietnam of aluminum wire harnesses for cars as early as next year, the Nikkei newspaper reported.

The aluminum wire harnesses, which are 40 percent lighter than existing products, will be sold mainly in Japan to tap demand from carmakers trying to improve fuel efficiency, the newspaper said, without citing anyone.
