SHANGHAI, Nov. 15 (SMM) -- According to the Foshan Fair Trade Information Center, the Australian government announced its final determination of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on Chinese aluminum extrusions. Anti-dumping duties of between 2.7% and 25.7% were imposed, while anti-subsidy duties between 3.8% and 18.4% were also levied on aluminum extrusion products from China.

Many enterprises in Guangdong province were involved in the investigations, and more than 10 exporters in this province, including Guangdong Xingfa Aluminum Company, will now pay anti-dumping and anti-subsidy rates of 6.1% and 6.4%, respectively. HS codes of aluminum extrusions involved in the case include 76041000, 76042100, 76042900, 76081000, 76082000, 76101000, and 76109000.

Despite the punitive duties, some market players believe China's aluminum extrusion exporters can bear the extra costs, especially when compared to the US Department of Commerce's preliminary anti-dumping duties of 59.31%.

SMM believes Chinese aluminum extrusion exporters will forgo the US market given the high anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties, and Australia's investigations have made exports even harder.  In this context, many aluminum extrusion exporters in Guangdong province say they will turn to domestic markets, which will now intensify the already severe competition in China's aluminum extrusion markets.
