Chinese Shares Open Slightly Lower Thursday

BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's equities opened lower Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.42 percent to open at 2,599.72.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.61 percent to open at 11,154.84.
