African Copper Gets Permit For Thakadu Project In Botswana

LONDON, Sep 24, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- African Copper PLC (ACU.LN), a copper producer focused on Botswana, Friday said it received a permit to develop its Thakadu copper and silver deposit in the north east of the southern African country.

Mining operations have commenced, it said.

The company added it sold 4,503 metric tons of copper concentrate between June 1 and Aug 31, for revenue of $4.72 million.
