MUMBAI, Aug. 17 -- India's state-run National Aluminium Co. Ltd. (532234.BY) plans to spend up to $1.5 billion to purchase mines in Indonesia, Namibia, Mongolia and Chile, a senior company official said Tuesday.
"We are looking for coal assets in Indonesia, uranium in Mongolia and Namibia, and copper in Chile," B.L. Bagra, director of finance, said without giving any timeline for the acquisitions.
The company will fund the acquisitions through internal accruals and will not be raising any funds, he said.
