SINGAPORE, July 30 -- Japan's production of extruded aluminum mill products in June rose 14% from May to 65,153 metric tons, and was also up 14% from a year earlier, according to preliminary data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry released Friday.
Inventories of extruded products fell 5% on month and 2% on year to 10,408 tons, while shipments rose 10% on month and 28% on year to 33,113 tons.
Flat-rolled aluminum output rose 1% on month and 11% on year to 112,084 tons.
Inventories of flat-rolled aluminum mill products fell 1% on month and 2% on year to 68,233 tons.
Shipments of flat-rolled products rose 5% from May, and were up 12% on year, at 108,910 tons.
At 0305 GMT, three-month aluminum on the London Metal Exchange was trading at $2,086/ton, down $7 from Thursday's kerb.
