SHANGHAI, July 12 -- Indonesia's PT Timah was confident its sales reached 25,000 tonnes of tin in the first half of this year, or 50% of its whole year's target. Tin sales earned an estimated US$400 million in the six month period, corporate secretary Abrun Abubakar told the Antara news agency.

The comment indicates the Timah's sales increased sharply in the second quarter, as reported sales in January-March were 9,770 tonnes. This was attributed to improved weather conditions. The projected volumes are very similar to the corresponding figures for last year of 24,110 tonnes for January-June and 49,240 tonnes for the full year.
