State Grid's Power Supply up 24.65% in Apr

BEIJING, June 3 -- State Grid Corporation of China, the largest power enterprise in China, supplied 228.9 billion kilowatts hour units of electricity to the country in April, up 24.65% compared with that of the same month last year, according to statistics the company released on Tuesday.

In April, the company sold 219.51 billion kWh of electricity, up 24.57% year on year. The company sold 843.01 billion kWh of electricity from January to April, up 25.08% year on year.

State Grid itself has generated electricity of 8.43 billion kWh in April, 80.18% more than that of the same month of last year. The company's generation of electricity rose 66.7% year on year to 28.27 billion kWh in the first four months this year.

The statistics also showed that the electricity trades in China's electricity market rose 13.44% to 24.38 billion kWh in April, and the electricity trades accumulated to 96.36 billion kWh from January to April.

State Grid has inked an RMB 346-million agreement with YGSOFT Inc<002063> to implement the information system in State Grid, sources reported.
