SHANGHAI, May 10 -- Figures released by the European Aluminum Foil Association (EAFA) show the aluminum foil sales in 2010 have fallen back to the level before the economic recession. 

The aluminum foil deliveries have reached 213 kt, up 17% compared with 2009 levels of 182 kt, and 1.5% lower than 2008 levels. 

The thinner aluminum foil is mainly used for flexible packaging and household foil, and the demand for thinner aluminum foil increased by almost 20% compared with 2009 levels, and was up by 7% compared with 2008 levels.

The thicker aluminum foil is mainly used in container-making, automotive, and building sectors, and the demand for thicker aluminum foil from these sectors increased significantly in 1Q 2010, up 16% compared with 2009 levels.
