FRANKFURT, May 07, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Aurubis AG (NDA.XE), Europe's largest copper producer, expects its operating result in the second half of its fiscal 2010 to at least match the level of the first six months of the year, Chief Executive Officer Bernd Drouven said Friday.
Drouven said that operating pretax profit in the second half of the year might even outpace the EUR77 million achieved in the first half of fiscal 2010, which ends Sept. 30.
However, he added that the upside potential depends on the further recovery of the global economy.
Drouven said he doesn't expect the government debt crisis in Greece to derail the world economy's recovery.
