SHANGHAI, Mar. 10 (SMM) -- Domestic selenium market was temporarily stable. Mainstream traded prices of refined selenium were in the RMB 700-730/kg range, with few exceptions at RMB 750/kg, and mainstream traded prices of selenium dioxide were around RMB 520/kg.

It was reported that supply was relatively tight in overseas market, and mainstream offers were at USD 40/lbs (more than RMB 720,000/mt). Costs were increased at importing market, and risks were increasing as well, so most impostors stood out of the market. Demand form downstream glass ceramic industry reduced by 40% due to selenium price increases. Since demand and supply of selenium were both sluggish, selenium prices were stable temporarily. Prices of selenium dioxide were depressed by falling EMM prices, and fell slightly to RMB 515- 525/kg range.

SMM believes that close attention should be paid to EMM price as well supply of goods from cargo-holders who were reluctant to move goods for the expectation of price increases previously.
