






BEIJING, Mar. 10 -- China exported US$3.79 billion worth of ships, boats and floating structures in February, 70.6% more than in the same month of last year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology yesterday.
Last month, the county imported US$110 million worth of such products, 7.5% more than in the corresponding period of last year.
In 2009, the total export value of ships, boats and floating structures surged 44.9% year on year to US$28.36 billion, while import value soared 92.5% to US$2.48 billion, according to customs statistics, China Knowledge reported earlier.
The shipbuilding industry's total export value was RMB 253.2 billion last year, up 17.8% from the previous year. The growth was 38.2 percentage points slower than in the previous year.
